Body Waxing FAQ
Answers to common questions about body waxing, hair length, sensitivity, results and bookings at Seema’s Beauty Salon in Totton.
1. How long should my hair be for waxing?
Hair should be at least ¼ inch long, about the length of a grain of rice, so the wax can grip effectively. Avoid shaving for 10–14 days before your appointment.
2. Is waxing painful?
Waxing can cause mild discomfort, especially during your first session, but it usually becomes more comfortable with regular treatments as hair grows back finer.
3. How long will waxing results last?
Results usually last 3–4 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle and the area treated.
4. Can I wax during my period?
Yes, you can. However, skin may be more sensitive during this time, so some clients prefer to reschedule for comfort.
5. Is waxing safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. We use professional techniques and suitable products to minimise irritation, even for sensitive or reactive skin.
6. What areas can I get waxed in one session?
You can combine multiple areas such as legs, arms, underarms, bikini or back in one appointment, depending on time and comfort.
7. Can I wax if I have reactive skin?
Yes, but please inform your therapist beforehand so the treatment can be adjusted to suit your skin needs.
8. How often should I get waxing done?
Most clients book waxing every 3–5 weeks to maintain smooth results and reduce regrowth thickness over time.
9. Can waxing help reduce hair growth over time?
With regular waxing, hair often grows back finer, softer and less dense over time because repeated waxing can weaken the hair follicle.
10. Can I shave between waxing appointments?
It’s best to avoid shaving between appointments, as shaving disrupts the hair growth cycle and can make future waxing less effective.
